A Petition to Save America's Fiscal Future

Every generation of Americans has inherited a nation made stronger by the sacrifices of those who came before. Today, that inheritance is at risk. Our national debt has grown to over $39 trillion and is rising rapidly. We are mortgaging the future of our children and grandchildren at record rates. This is irresponsible, unethical, and immoral. It must stop.

This is not a Republican problem or a Democrat problem. It is an American problem. And it will take millions of Americans, united, to fix it.

We, the undersigned, call upon the United States Congress to:

1. Create a bipartisan Fiscal Commission empowered to engage the American people and develop a comprehensive set of recommendations that will save Social Security and restore fiscal responsibility, with recommendations that receive a guaranteed up-or-down vote in Congress.

2. Adopt a Constitutional Amendment to ensure the federal government lives within its means, so that no future Congress can continue to mortgage our future.

We sign this petition not as members of a party, but as Americans who refuse to pass this debt to our children and grandchildren. We demand better, because they deserve better.
